LouthDonore is a small village in County Meath, Rep. of Ireland, near [Drogheda]. It is situated on the Meath/Louth border in the Boyne Valley on the route between Drogheda and the Bru na Boinne interpretive centre which is the point of access to Newgrange. The village has undergone expansion during the past number of years as a result of it's location near the recent extension of the M1 motorway. During the late 17th Century, the village was used as a defensive position by the Jacobite army of King James II against King William III during the Battle of the Boyne 1690.The Commber Connor Memorial took place over 70km over a 5 lap circuit. Aidan and Declan competed along with Darren from Declan's Triathlon club. A flat course with a strong headwind made it difficult for breakes to get away. So it came down to a sprint finish, but not before Declan went off the front with 4km to go to try and timetrial to victory - he got caught by the bunch with 1.5km to go. No podium fisish today.Registration will be from 1.30pm onwards in Danesfort Community Centre.
Cost: €1,295 per person all inclusive. Contact us for further details.Etape du Tour Route 2011 |
